Matthew 7:1-5

Jesus said to his disciples:
“Stop judging, that you may not be judged.
For as you judge, so will you be judged,
and the measure with which you measure will be measured out to you.
Why do you notice the splinter in your brother’s eye,
but do not perceive the wooden beam in your own eye?
How can you say to your brother,
‘Let me remove that splinter from your eye,’
while the wooden beam is in your eye?
You hypocrite, remove the wooden beam from your eye first;
then you will see clearly
to remove the splinter from your brother’s eye.”

Today we remember that we are all sinners. We all have work to do and things in our life to turn away from.

Some may require us to bring the full weight of our abilities to find where we fail regularly to follow the way of Jesus Christ.

We must ask the Holy Spirit to reveal what we have not seen in our self and let our brothers and sisters seek their own path while we sort out our errors. They may actually be closer to the path than we are.

 Above all, remember love is the guide for wisdom. For it is through love that we will find knowledge and discernment. This requires us to abandon our misconceptions of ourselves sometimes and lay ourselves at the foot of the cross so we can be healed.  And because he loves us, God will reveal to us how to proceed in faith.
