The Word of God became flesh and dwelt among us.
To those who accepted him
he gave power to become the children of God.

I think sometimes we forget what we received in baptism.

We were baptized into the family of Christ. We were anointed and given graces and we were given truth. Truth is lacking among most people today. Disinformation and falsehoods are presented with conviction as the truth.

Many are led astray and away from Jesus. But that is not our way. For we are children of God with the power to see the truth and the graces of God to hold steady and bravely say yes to him each day.

Our way is the path Jesus brought into the world so we would have an entrance into heaven. Death has no mastery on us for we are now part of a divine family that lives forever.

We should be people of hope, not anxiety. For nothing in this world will last forever. Nothing down here is worth losing hope. So we seek truth always and keep all things in perspective. We live and learn and make mistakes and because we are loved as daughters and sons of God we are healed and welcomed back always.

One of the most often heard phrases in our Gospels is “do not be afraid.” Let us continue our joy of Christmas today without fear or anxiety but keep our hearts filled with hope and love for we are children of God and nothing can change that but us.

I hope you continue a joy filled Christmas and allow the season to be part of your day.
