We must be alert and consider what our actions and words say about us. We must look closely at what we profess and what we do. For we may think we are in good standing with our God, while little by little we abandon His way.

We profess to love God above all things and others, but do we spend our time and money and talent for his service or only to make money and win favor?

If we work eat and sleep each weekday and only worship and meditate on Sunday, who do we really worship.

We walk through life and like all people have joys and sorrows and successes and failures. Who do we put our trust in, in good times and bad times.

If we live in anxiety, we do not yet trust God. If we live in fear, where is God in our struggles?

We know intellectually he is with us. We know he loves us and wants the best for us.

We also know from scriptures that everything we want, if it is his will, will be given us and everything that we want that is not his will, we should not seek. Don’t spend another minute or dime on pursuing anything that is not the will of God. For it leads us away from what we profess we love.

Today we should check in with our actions and worries. And ask ourselves, are we growing closer to God today than we were yesterday?

If not, we are in peril and are moving away. Our God requires much from us and loyalty and faithfulness in all things is not negotiable.

But when we are doing his will, and what we want and work toward is his will we will be given it.

What are we planning today? Who will we talk to today and what would a faithful follower tell them. If we have difficult discussions to face today, ask God to own them and he will give you the right words. Set your heart in Jesus and the words will come.

If we have something difficult to do today, tell Jesus about it and give it to him and then face the tasks, focusing on Jesus Christ, while we do it. Give it all to him. Each day all we do should be for Jesus Christ and our life should continue to grow closer to his will.

Today is a day to check in that our life is moving closer to our Lord.
