On this Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus we turn to the very symbol of the love Jesus Christ has for us. Not just those he spoke to but you and me personally. For the Gospels speak to all peoples across time.
We are invited to pursue a love for God because he first loved us. He gave himself for us. He who is timeless entered time to be with us once and for all. His love is so great it draws all people. We were created with a longing to be loved like this.
Can you sense it and feel it in your heart.
We were born to be loved by the only one who loves us unconditionally and unceasing. There is nothing we can do to lose that love. He will love us even as we proclaim we don’t love him. He will pursue us even as we run away.
We can go through life trying this thing or that one to attempt to find that kind of love but we will always be dissatisfied for the love we seek is only within the Sacred Heart.
Let us hurry then and wait no more. Let us override the doubts and anxieties and choose Jesus Christ as the center of our life and we will find his way easy and peaceful. He will bring us true peace and true joy. And nothing in this world will take it away.
Let us stop running from Jesus today. Stop thinking we know where to find that which our hearts seek. It is not on this earth at all. And we cannot find it until we say yes to the desire and hunger we have for that love and put our lives in his hands.
The Sacred Heart is our star shining brightly to show us where to find that eternal love and acceptance.
Choose Jesus today.
