Matthew 5:13-16

Jesus said to his disciples:
“You are the salt of the earth.
But if salt loses its taste, with what can it be seasoned?
It is no longer good for anything
but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.
You are the light of the world.
A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden.
Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket;
it is set on a lampstand,
where it gives light to all in the house.
Just so, your light must shine before others,
that they may see your good deeds
and glorify your heavenly Father.”

As Christians we don’t live in a vacuum. We don’t isolate ourselves from others. We are not loners.

For we are now part of the body of Christ through our baptism. Called to be a light for others. To be Christ for others.

To glorify our Heavenly Father by how we love others. That is our mission… to love and make sure that others know they are loved. For the scarcest commodity we have on earth is to know we are loved. That’s why Jesus came to be with us, to be one of us. So we would know we are loved.

Let’s shine our light today on everyone we meet and make sure they leave us knowing we loved them.
