John 15:12-17

Jesus said to his disciples:
“This is my commandment: love one another as I love you.
No one has greater love than this,
to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
You are my friends if you do what I command you.
I no longer call you slaves,
because a slave does not know what his master is doing.
I have called you friends,
because I have told you everything I have heard from my Father.
It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you
and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain,
so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you.
This I command you: love one another.”

Being a Christian is not about what we must do and what commandments we should obey. It isn’t about what we can’t do our shouldn’t do. It isn’t about the need to refrain from sin.

It has always been about love.

And the one who takes that message to heart finds all the rest falls into place.

When we begin to understand and believe how much we are loved by God we find we choose better. Our actions and lifestyle align with his commandments. Our heart is his. We are his. And in gratefulness for his love and having chosen us we are eager to tell others.

Worry becomes less in our life and struggles are lessened knowing the peace and joy of Jesus within us.

It’s always been about love.

And our life should always be about Jesus Christ.
