They had been with him and saw when he fed the 5000 and then again when he fed
the 4000. They were with him and knew him and yet even they were worried when
they forgot to bring bread with them. They had the Bread of Life with them and they
still worried. We worry too. We know Jesus can do all and loves us. But we can fail to
trust him and let go of anxieties. But Jesus will provide for us. We may need to go
through struggles or transitions, but he will make sure we are satisfied and he will
take care of us.
That should be what we work on this Lent that starts tomorrow. We should be
closer to Jesus at the end of Lent than we were when we start it tomorrow. How we
do that. What we give up. What we take on. It doesn’t matter at all … unless we end
up closer and trust Jesus more.
That is what this season is about. Growing closer.
Clearing our lives of anything that stops us from praying more seeking his comfort
more, trusting him more.
Make a plan today to reach a goal of a closer relationship with him this Lent.
The closer we are, the less we worry about bread and money and this world. Anxiety
is less. Trust in God. Ask for help this Lent in growing closer. There is nothing more
important than that in the next 40 days. Because it will change our life drastically
and for the better.
Have a great Lent
