John has been arrested. Jesus begins proclaiming the Gospel of God. Then he begins calling his disciples. And while we don’t hear all the conversation, we are told they stopped what they were doing and followed him.

This wasn’t a call to stop sinning, for they were all doing good things. Important things. This wasn’t a call to repentance.

This was a call that would not only change their life but change the world they lived in. Relationships would be changed. Priorities would be changed. What they did every day would now be different. They would grow in faith and love and give all for Jesus Christ.

Jesus calls you and me too.

He calls for us to be a light in the kingdom we were born to shine. We are called to change and growth, and to change all around.

Today we need to ask ourselves if we have truly said yes to his call for us. We may not be called to stop working in our job or leave our family. But we are all called to follow him in faith and change ourselves and the world . We too are called to make a change.

We can tell if we are on the right path because we will see others moved and changed because of our light. If nothing in your life has changed since you said yes to Jesus Christ to lead your life, it may be Jesus is just someone you know but he does not know you. It may be we haven’t given him our life and work and will.

Following Jesus means everything revolves around his Word and his way. And all people see it and see the light of Christ in us.

Jesus is always calling us to a deeper relationship. Closer and closer until our will is his will. And all around us know it. Only then have we truly said yes to Jesus.
